Supervision ASW

1661106958Susie believes supervision is essential professionally.

Giving back to the next generation of social work professionals comes from my strong passion that this world needs more individuals to support our communities and society.

As a long-term supervisor for Bachelor of Social Worker (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) interns for universities such as Our Lady of the Lake University, Azusa Pacific University, and Cal Baptist University, training up the next set of social workers holds an essential key to making huge changes in our world.

Ensuring these interns become licensed professionals capable of providing therapy and teaching social work students is essential to supervise Associate Social Workers (ASW) working toward future clinical licensure.

Any MSW graduate pursuing their Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) title must receive ASW supervision.

Supervision has specific requirements.

The California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) has rules and regulations governing the pursuit of the LCSW, but generally, the requirements include the following:

A set number of hours spanning over two years of work experience.

Supervision by an LCSW is for 104 weeks (generally, one hour a week each of the 104 weeks is acquired).

The LCSW helps provide supervision as the ASW prepares to pass Law & Ethics Exam and the Licensing Exam.

My supervision style focuses on building a solid relationship with the ASW while offering 24-hour support through my availability to ensure that the professional is making ethical and legal decisions in their day-to-day practice.

I offer one-on-one supervision for each ASW within the parameters of their requirements. I provide guidance and oversight to help the ASW select a therapeutic framework to ensure it is applied ethically and appropriately to their clients.
